Why did you join this class?

For one, I wanted to get to know you better after our brief meetings at the end of last year. Several people also spoke highly of you and recommended your class to me. In addition, I joined because what you teach will potentially help me make more professional looking snowboard videos, opening up another realm of the snowboard industry for me.

What do you hope to gain from taking this class?

i want to learn filming and editing skills, such as composition, that I can then take to filming and editing snowboarding.

What do you know about cinematography?

At this point I know nothing. I sometimes film people snowboarding and I make snowboard videos, but I just point and shoot a Gopro from a low angle pointing upward to make the feature look bigger and hope I'm getting the rider in frame. With editing, I use iMovie and have never dealt with final cut pro. I only use 3 features at most, those being slomo, ken burns effect, and the visual tools like brightening.

Below is the video i made for my 2016 season recap.

What do you want to know about cinematography?

Because I'm more or less starting at ground zero, I can stand to learn more about proper angles, lighting, good cameras, and every other unknown element of the film aspect of cinematography.

What type of films would you like to make?

films with action.

What are three of your favorite movies?-embed trailers or screen shots and explain why you enjoy these films.

superbad, adventure land, and the social network.

I enjoy superbad because its the funniest movie I've ever seen and I love the actors. I like adventure land because the plot is awesome, the soundtrack has songs I love, and again, I like the actors.  I chose the social network because the story of how Facebook was created is super interesting and the actor that played mark zuckerburg is the same one as the main character from adventure land.

What is your favorite movie genre?

when I feel like using my brain while watching movies, science fiction is my favorite. I also love horror on the right days. But more often than not, I'd rather watch comedy.

What motivates you to work hard?

deadlines and consequences. I always save things for the last day but this year I'm trying not to do so, and so far I'm succeeding.

What are five concerns that you have now in your life?

1. getting satisfactory grades that reflect my full potential

2. staying healthy (meaning not breaking any bones) for the extended future so I can train for snowboarding without any time off

3. adapting to my new schedule of getting home at 6, while also having 5 classes as opposed to 4, which is usual for me.

What was your favorite subject in school? Why?

history is my favorite non-elective course, because i find it interesting the process that resulted in where the world is today. For electives, I enjoyed photography a lot, partly because I was lucky enough to have it A block, so I loved walking around BBA in the morning taking in views and taking pictures of them

What are the three words that best describe you?

deaf, dumb, and blind

Biggest Character turn-off for you? (ex. I hate when people are late)

what I hate most is when people base their opinions of others purely on what they hear from others or what they initially assume.
